Just some pictures from my Saturday drive. Sometimes a girl needs some country air, there's simply nothing like it! The temperature was in the high 90's, but when I drove in the tree covered area it dropped 15 degrees. A creek was right at the edge of the road. Birds were chirping. Rabbits were hopping through the thick grass. Serenity.

When someone asks you to go hiking....go. Don’t complain that it’s too hot or you’re out of shape. There is someone somewhere that would love to be able to physically do this. To them heat wouldn’t be the issue.
When you go for a jog/run and you don’t think your legs will hold you another step, keep pushing. Someone out there would love to be able to do what you’re doing. Without being in pain.
When you’re required to read for work/school/etc, don’t complain. Be thankful for your eyesight and being able to complete your assignment.
When you don’t want to type up another document for your boss or write another paper for your professor, do it anyway. Be thankful you still have your limbs and are able to do this without even thinking.
When your legs are on fire pedaling up that hill on your bicycle, tell yourself that you can DO IT! There is someone out there that doesn’t have the strength to pedal up that hill. Someone that has to Velcro their foot to the pedal, but damn it they are sure going to keep trying.
If asked to go somewhere with a friend or loved one, go! Don’t say no because the house is a mess, your hair is a mess, or you’re just blah. Just go! I’m sure once you get out you’ll feel much better! There’s someone laying in a hospital bed wishing that they could just get up and spend time with a friend. Do it for them, but also for yourself.
A coworker of mine came into work this morning bitching because her husband wanted to go hiking over the weekend. Actually she’s bitched since Friday morning. I finally looked at her and said what’s the problem? Her answer, it’s too hot. It’s not fun. Why would anyone want to do that? My response, I would love to be able to go hiking. To not worry about falling flat on my face. Strategically planning out where my foot is placed at every second. So, be thankful that you’re physically able.
Sometimes we all need a reminder that someone else somewhere has it worse than we do. I know that I take things for granted at times, but it’s something I’m definitely going to work on.

Last night I was texting with my Aunt (my mom’s sister) while she was sending me photos of my cousin’s little boy! He is precious. He’s almost 2 now, and I’ve still yet to meet him. Sometimes I hate when family lives SO far away! My cousin C plays Major League Ball and is currently living in Pittsburgh, playing for the Pirates! Gooo Pirates!
My aunt told me that there was a baseball signed and being shipped to Kentucky from C to Kyle (The 16 year old boy I visited with cancer). I was shocked and so surprised! I told her that Kyle would be so happy I’m sure and that I hoped it would brighten his day! I told her that I’d get a picture of Kyle with the ball to send back to C, and my Aunt said that he’d love that! I can’t wait to see Kyle’s face, especially since he’s originally from Pennsylvania!
C and his wife K are involved with the Make A Wish Foundation which is an organization that grants wishes to terminally ill children, a great organization! Please check it out! Apparently K texted my Aunt and told her that the reason that they are doing this is because of me, of all that I went through and overcame, and they want to pay their blessings forward. How amazing! I just want to give them both a HUGE hug! Apparently C & K have met a young girl “R” through the Make A Wish Foundation. She has beat Leukemia twice, and then lost her mother to breast cancer and her father was killed in a tragic car accident, how horrific! R is living with her aunt and they don’t have much at all, and R is fixing to start college in the fall. My cousin and his wife have taken it upon themselves to help this family out. K has bought this young girl all the things for her dorm room, stuff for school, and then some personal gifts as well. R has NO idea that they have done this for her, and they will be presenting her with all of the gifts next Saturday. My cousin is SO excited he can hardly wait!
I’m so PROUD of them for doing this! I think it’s amazing! Hearing this “good deed” story last night from one of my own flesh & blood made me kick myself in the ass and realize that I’m really lucky for all that I do have!

- For the cool weather today! Low 80’s with a light breeze. Perfection!
- Crossing some items off of my “to-do” list.
- Jon’s momma wanting me to help her start canning. And she’s going to teach me.
- My leg finally stopped squeaking. It was driving me batty!
- My gym membership and pushing myself to go even when I don’t want to.
- Jamming to some tunes with Mandie!
- Jon hanging up a picture in the bathroom for me
Okay, this list was tough this week! I’ve just had one of those weeks, but thankful I was able to find some good things!

Did you know that eggs can go bad?
Jon was sure that they had to be invincible and I wasn’t so sure if they did go bad. How would you know? A shell, well smells like a shell I guess. Crack it open into some brownie batter and then you’re just screwed if it’s smelly. The whole bowl of brownie batter gets dumped into the trash and you’re left with a really bad chocolate craving, that Dairy Queen will have to fix.
The average lifespan of an egg is 45 days, or that’s what my research concluded. The color of the yolk, the thickness, good grief who knew there was so much to an egg. Something that a chicken pooped out. Man, can you imagine how painful that would be? Owwwwww!

Wow, this week has FLOWN by! I absolutely LOVE short work weeks! I vote for one each and every single week, what do ya say?
- That Jon cleaned the bathroom and vacuumed upstairs last night!
- Spending the day with Jon on the lake on the 4th of July! I’m so thankful that he planned that for us!
- That I have learned to mellow out. It has IMPROVED my life in more ways than one!
- Our long talk last night laying in bed! I’ve missed those, and it was much needed!
- That my pepper plants are finally starting to produce! Yeah!
- New music finds!
- Cheap Magazine Subscriptions I’ve found online. Score! I have an obsession with magazines.
- Our (Jon & I) 2 dollar yard sale grill that my mom scored for us! It has produced some amazing summer meals so far!
- My aloe plant that I have in my kitchen. It’s been a savior for my sunburn this week!
- Weekend plans!
- The pretty little flowers above that brightened my morning as I waited in Starbucks drive thru for my coffee!
Hope you have a Happy Thursday! What are you thankful for?
