A couple weeks ago Jon and I took off work on a Monday and spent the day together. It was lovely! The weather was in the upper 70’s with bright blue skies, it couldn't have been more perfect! We got up early and took off to the bait shop located on the lake here in town, where fisherman were already out on the water enjoying the crisp cool morning air. Jon loaded up on bait and we headed to his parent’s house to pick up our canoe. We can’t really store a canoe in an apartment, ha! His mom gave us a quick hug in case we capsized and she didn’t see us again, hehe!
Here are some pictures from our wonderful day!
This is our first fishing spot. Jon caught a little Flathead catfish, the only catch of the day! The view was beautiful. I laid back on the rocks and just stared up at the sky, in awe of the peaceful air that surrounded me.
This picture was our 2nd fishing spot, that required some serious thinking before getting out of the canoe. We had to climb up on the rock ledge, one at a time in hopes of not flipping the canoe! We were successful! Everything was peaceful, until I spotted a 7 foot snake swimming in the water. The sucker cruised right underneath my fishing line, and I was up and outta there, FAST! Jon was cracking up the entire time.
Here's our view as we were paddling back to our launch site. Isn't it gorgeous!?
We spent about 3 hours paddling around and enjoying nature. I can't wait to go back!
